We are often asked how does the “traditional” wedding reception progress? Like snowflakes, no two weddings are alike. However, we often start your cocktail and/or dinner hour with wedding music consisting of a delightful blend of vocals and instrumentals at an appropriate volume level.
As the reception begins to progress to a faster dance pace, the wedding music evolves from Swing-Big Band and oldies to Motown and the 50’s. We mix in the 60's era and 70's disco, along with 80's, 90's and finally current hits.
REMEMBER – this information is dependent on the age range of your guests and your personal taste. It is our job to read the room and analyze each segment of your event. We like to assure there is a little bit of something for everyone, but this is your event and your day, so you are the boss! Not every event follows the above format. The above list is just an example of a “normal flow” wedding reception. No two receptions are ever duplicated by design. Music is always adjusted to your selections.
We work seamlessly with your wedding coordinator(s) and/or caterer / venue to keep your timeline on track! Never forget the fact that your guests do not attend your wedding reception to see your entertainment choices.
